On-Line Payments to the International Baptist Convention How does paying on-line work work? The International Baptist Convention has teamed up with PayPal to offer you the opportunity to pay for the Summer assembly on-line without leaving your chair! Paypal can be used to send and receive payments through the Internet to anyone with an email address, using a credit card, debit card or your bank account. After you have paid, the International Baptist Convention will be notified by Paypal via email that we have received your payment. How secure is your transaction? Many people who consider on-line payment have concerns about the safety of their personal information. This is understandable. However, PayPal uses the latest technology and proprietary procedures to protect the security of your transaction. That is why we opted for PayPal. Paypal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Before you even begin payment Paypal checks that you're using an approved browser - one that uses SSL 3.0 or higher. Once your information reaches Paypal, it resides on a server that is heavily guarded both physically and electronically. Paypal servers sit behind an electronic firewall and are not directly connected to the Internet, so your private information is available only to authorized computers. In other words, with Paypal you are in good hands! Surcharge The International Baptist Convention is charged approximately 5% for receiving your payment from Paypal. To ensure that costs of the convention are kept in check, we regret that we must pass this surcharge on to you. The surcharge will be included and listed in the final payment total.
