He is married to Ann and has one son, Owen, who is als involved in university student ministry. Evening Speaker: Billie Hanks, Jr.
At the age of 20, Billie became Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s (BGEA) first intern. He traveled throughout the world with the Billy Graham team learning crusade evangelism and became an experienced evangelist in his own right having preached in 29 countries. Later, when Billie was 35, he was invited to serve as a “minister at large” for BGEA. In this capacity he equipped several thousands of disciple-makers to minister to new Christians. God has used him in many life-changing relationships, one of which was with Rick Warren, who cites Billie Hanks, Jr. as one of the most influential men in his life. In 1972, The International Evangelism Association was born and today it guides the highly effective ministry of “Operation Multiplication.” It implements this life changing New Testament disciple-making process in numerous countries and languages. His goal has always been to work through visionary Christian churches, colleges, universities, and seminaries. His website is: http://www.ieaom.org/ Billie Hanks Jr. actively ministers widely throughout the world and at West Texas Ranch for Christ. The “Operation Multiplication” Lead Church strategy and friendship based equipping process is now being taught for credit in Christian seminaries in North America, South America, and Western Europe. Dr. Hanks has followed in Trotman’s steps and is teaching thousands of Great Commission minded pastors from forty denominations how to close their “back doors” and “equip church members” to grow and multiply spiritually. Where is Interlaken?Interlaken is a resort city that, as its name suggests, is situated between two lakes in the midst of the Jungfrau region of the Swiss Alps. It is approx. 60 kilometres (30 minutes) south-east of Bern, Switzerland. Train service to Interlaken from both Bern and Zurich is excellent and includes a direct service from Zurich airport. AccommodationsThe International Baptist Convention regrets that it is unable to book accommodations for you. However, as a resort city, Interlaken has a wide variety of housing available (hotels, apartments, chalets and camp sites). Individuals and families should make their own arrangements, unless one person in the church you attend is designated as Interlaken coordinator. Housing arrangements should be made early because facilities in Interlaken and nearby villages fill up quickly. Local tourist bureaus mail brochures to IBC churches listing all available housing in the area, as does the website. Churches have also received from the IBC office a brochure providing information on lower cost accommodation options. The conference location is Alpenstrasse 23 (school buildings) and Alpenstrasse 45 (Artos Hotel) on the east side of Interlaken. If you do not have access to an IBC church and need assistance, please contact: Tourist Office Interlaken RegistrationForms are available through International Baptist Convention churches, the IBC office and the IBC website. Online registration and online credit card payment will be available on the website, starting early 2012. Registration Fees: |

Billie was raised in a ranching family in west Texas. As a freshman in college, he read a book that would change the focus of his ministry forever. It was entitled Born to Reproduce by Dawson Trotman, founder of the Navigators, and Billie gave his life to become a disciple-maker.
